To your success!
Tip 1
“Everybody has something…”
This is one of my husband’s favourite phrases and he quotes it constantly to would be entrepreneurs. Everybody has something.
What do you have?
For some it is capital, others, an idea, someone else a burden, another a need, what do you have?
Samson Abioye, co-founder, Pass.ng was a 400l student when he discovered that a secondary school mate and friend of his was still writing UTME. This bothered him and this burden birthed the idea that today is pass.ng. He decided at the time to create an app that is a compilation of past questions and the answer to those questions. He created this to help his friend prepare for his UTME. He informed his friend after creating the app. This friend was super happy and he informed another friend, who informed another person and on and on and on. By the end of year 1, what started as an app to help a friend had more than a hundred thousand downloads. Then he saw the business opportunity, further developed the app, brought in other friends to partner, found an accelerator and just before his death in 2017, Pass.ng had grown to an organization with more than 10 employees.
What did he have? Samson wanted to help his friend pass his UTME exam. Samson had a burden for his friend and through diligent thinking, he found a solution.
Sometimes, what you have may not look like what is needed to start anything. The key here is never to throw away anything you have be it a burden, a passion, an interest, whatever. Does it mean all will translate into businesses? Not necessarily, but with paying attention to think through the process, and just starting, you may be in for a great surprise.
So what do you have?
