The Refuge Firm is set to host the 2023 Ibadan Employability Summit themed “Land that job”, happening live in Ibadan. The Summit was borne out of a passion and need to help job seekers transition to gainfully employed persons and, in the process, change the Nigerian work culture.
The full-day Summit is scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 9:00 am at a venue that will be sent to selected participants.
Why are we doing this?
- Several excellent potential employees won’t get jobs because they have not understood the hiring process.
- There are many job seekers who, if given a job today, will be out of work in three to six months due to poor work ethics.
- There are several roles to be filled by organisations, and finding the right hire(s) is becoming increasingly difficult.
- The world has become truly global; for the first time, the job market is experiencing international competition for roles.
- The competition for roles now includes artificial intelligence.
The summit will, therefore, feature conversations with employers and recruiters on what they look out for in potential employees; participants will learn how to find and stay relevant on the job. In addition, there will be CV writing and interview preparedness sessions.
Some employers will attend the event and may hire on the spot. Therefore, we encourage participants to prepare for the event and come ready to learn and land that job!
To ensure that participants can maximise their time and learn as much as possible, the class size is restricted to 100 participants, who will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
